Tech Tip #1: Reset your Audi MMI System in Seconds

Screen Frozen? Lost Audio? Bluetooth or Navigation Lagging? Try This First!

If your Audi’s touchscreen becomes unresponsive or starts lagging, you can perform a quick MMI reset right from the driver’s seat — no tools or service appointment needed. Whether you drive an Audi Q5, A6, or e-tron, this simple restart method works across most models with the MMI system. Here’s how to do it in seconds and get back to a smooth, connected drive.

Screen Frozen? Here's a Quick MMI Reset

Even the most advanced systems need a quick refresh sometimes — and your Audi MMI is no different.

If your screen becomes unresponsive or freezes, there’s no need to schedule a service visit. You can perform a soft reset in seconds, right from the driver's seat.

How to Reset Your MMI:

  1. Locate the volume knob just to the right of the gear selector.

  2. Press and hold the knob for about 10 seconds.

  3. The screen will go black, then restart with the Audi logo.

That’s it. No tools, no menus, no hassle.

Pro Tip: This reset works on most newer Audi models, including the e-tron lineup. It’s perfect for minor software hiccups, lag, or Bluetooth sync issues.

Important Notes:

The exact duration and method can vary based on the model and MMI version.

Always refer to your vehicle's owner's manual for model-specific instructions.

If the MMI system remains unresponsive after attempting a reset, it's advisable to contact Audi Salt Lake City to schedule a service appointment or chat with their Technologist Team.
