The Audi Q7 towing capacity doesn't seem to be getting the publicity it deserves. While the Audi Q7 is typically admired for its technology, sleek styling, and interior space, this SUV's capability is more than enough to handle towing duties around Salt Lake City and Park City. In fact, the overall performance of the model is one of its most enduring traits.

Audi Salt Lake City is always happy to keep locals informed about their favorite Audi vehicles. For the Audi Q7, we'll be touching on the towing capacity, the performance specifications, and some available packages which further improve capability!

Plenty of Towing Ability

The size of the Audi Q7 means plenty of space in the cabin and also plenty of strength when you've got a trailer attached to the rear end.

There are two engines in the Audi Q7, with the base option providing 4,400 pounds of maximum towing capability.

If you opt for the second motor, the maximum towing capacity is a robust 7,700 pounds. That means you have plenty of power to bring the family boat up to the lake for a long weekend or fill a trailer with cargo for a cross-country excursion.

To reach this impressive towing capacity, you'll want to opt for the towing package which can be included on all trim levels.

Performance Specifications

With two motors and a consistently excellent transmission, your Audi Q7 will display unwavering strength while remaining poised on the open road.

The base motor is the 2.0L 4-cylinder which is able to muster 248 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque. If you want to step up to the available option, your SUV will be powered by a 3.0L 6-cylinder which is able to produce 329 horsepower and 325 lb-ft of torque.

There are similarities between the engines. For one thing, they both come with a start-stop engine system to improve fuel economy. With start-stop in place, your engine will shut off when you come to a compete standstill. As you release the brake, the engine automatically turns back on!

Both engines are mated to the 8-speed automatic transmission, too. For comforts sake, there's an independent front spring suspension and an independent rear spring suspension.

Reassuring Traction on All Surfaces

If you're the adventurous type that hooks up a trailer and heads out into the wilderness, it's good to know your Audi Q7 will remain firm-footed on any surface.

Most of the stability comes from the refined Quattro® All-Wheel Drive set up which comes standard on every trim level.

You can choose from a range of tires sizes, too. The 21-inch 10-spoke cast-aluminum Talea wheels are a go-to for many.
