If you've been searching for a luxury SUV around Salt Lake City, Park City, and Heber City, you may be considering either the Audi Q5 or the Acura RDX. Both are great vehicles with top-of-the-line features, but which one is right for you?

To help you answer that question, our team here at Audi Salt Lake City has created this Audi Q5 vs. Acura RDX comparison. Below we'll discuss some of the standout features of both, so you can choose the vehicle that's right for you.

Capability

When you're behind the wheel of an SUV, you want the ability to take it anywhere the adventure may lead. For that, you'll need the quattro® all-wheel drive with ultra® technology. It comes standard on the Audi Q5, so you'll have better traction, handling, and efficiency. The Acura RDX has a similar all-wheel drive system, but it's offered as an available option.

If you want to customize the performance of your SUV based on the road conditions, both models have selectable driving modes. The Integrated Dynamics System of the RDX has four modes. The Audi Drive Select system, however, has five driving modes, one of which is Off-road.

Finally, you'll be able to take the Audi Q5 farther. That's because it's equipped with an 18.5-gallon fuel tank, whereas the Acura RDX has a fuel tank that can only hold 17.1 gallons.

Interior Comfort and Connectivity

Once you step inside these SUVs, you'll see that they offer similar amenities to keep you and your passengers comfortable. There's available leather-trimmed seating and heated front seats to keep you cozy on a cold morning.

The Audi Q5 also gives you, your front passenger, and the folks in the back the opportunity to choose their ideal temperature with the standard 3-zone automatic climate control. The standard climate control system on board the RDX is maxed out at two zones.

Both SUVs have a smartphone interface that includes Apple CarPlay® integration, so you'll be able to keep up with your favorite apps and listen to the music you love. When your favorite song comes on, however, you'll want to be in the Audi Q5. Its available 755-watt Bang & Olufsen® 3D Premium Sound System includes 19 speakers. The available Acura/ELS Studio 3D® Premium Audio System of the RDX is only a 710-watt system with 16 speakers.

Safety Features

You expect your luxury SUV to be equipped with top-notch safety technologies, as well. Both models come with features that will look out for those hard-to-see places. On the Acura RDX, there's the Blind Spot Information (BSI) System, while the Audi Q5 comes with Audi side assist and Audi pre sense® rear.

There are also active lane assist systems and adaptive cruise control on both the Q5 and the RDX, so you'll have more confidence the next time you're cruising down the highway.

The Audi Q5 includes an additional safety feature called Audi pre sense® basic. This standard technology can detect an impending collision, and when it does, it'll prepare the vehicle for impact. This includes closing the windows and tightening the safety belts.
